John, the Snorkeller & Swimmer .... (Sue King)

Well, John, how can such a young man like you be turning 60?

When I think about you ,I think about swimming as that seems to be what we do most often when we get together.I remember the time we went camping at Barrie’s Bay and you were appalled at the fact that Leigh-Anne didn’t have a snorkel. You both jumped in the car to go to Yakabuski’s hardware store in Whitney to get one and you  spent the next two hours side by side  snorkels down, legs up to discover the lake’s many treasures.

Your love of Meech Lake is as strong as mine and over the years we have swam for hours towards the cottages on the other side as the sun has set.

Last summer we tried a new spot in Wakefield and watched as the young people sat with appendages dangling from the bridge like worms from the tackle box until the moment where they summoned the courage to take the plunge and jump .It was tempting but at our age not worth the sore muscles afterward for a momentary folly.

You are passionate about your music, your faith, your skiing  but most of all your family, a Bird Land  gathering is always good times. You are a lot of fun to be around and  with you and Lorraine, Lakefield is a serene oasis in a good robust way.

I think you are a happy 60 year old ,aware of your many blessings  and indeed you are most blessed.

Have a very Happy 60th Birthday , it isn’t all that bad being 60, aches and pains aside.

Best wishes and Love,

Sue
