After being friends with John for many years, I was really happy when he was hired to do Aboriginal justice work at the United Church, with an office just down the hall from mine!
Stopping in for a visit—and sometimes even talking about work—on the way to or from a meeting or the water tap (no coolers at the GCO!) always lifted my spirits and helped keep everything in perspective.
